Today’s post won’t be a regular one, because today is the anniversary of my dad’s passing.
It's been a few years since we said good-bye. I’m grateful that I can still hear him saying my name.
I know he is in heaven, and I'm grateful for that too. But I miss having him here.
How do you sum up the life of a deeply-loved loved one? Someday I’ll write a post about him but not today.
Today I’m going to hug my mother and tell her I love her. Tomorrow I’m going to hug my sister and tell her the same.
I urge you, while you can, hug your parents, your spouse, your children, your friends. Tell them you love them. Share a favorite memory of them, tell a funny story, laugh together. Use the time you have now to say and do the things that matter. Someday you will be so glad you did.
Are you missing someone today? How do you mark their lives or the anniversary of their loss? Leave a comment below or, as always, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
