Part 2: Your Photos of Winter Beauty

With severe winter weather forecasted for much of the country, I debated about whether to publish this post today. But I didn’t want to wait any longer to share these photos you sent in a few weeks ago. Thank you to everyone who shared photos.

You submitted so many, in fact, that this is part 2, and I still have a handful of others that I’ll be using soon.

Winter beauty can indeed be stunning, but as in other seasons, it can be dangerous too. You are all on my mind right now as we wait for this winter storm to come. I am praying for us all.

Alexandra Russell and her husband, Forrest, recently visited Mt. Rainier. The moon, the mountains, the colors, and snow that looks like toasted marshmallows—what’s not to love?

A few weeks ago, Joy Hadden and other hikers enjoyed the last of the snow covering Edinburgh’s famous Arthur’s Seat. You can see the city lying just below and the water of the Firth of Forth beyond that.

Several years ago, when Cindy Webb’s mother-in-law was in hospice, there was a big snowfall in the area. “I walked out and saw this flower piled with snow,” Cindy told me. “It makes me think of her whenever I see it.”

Of her photo, Doreen Phillips said, “This is our pond. Where we live, you turn the corner and there is traffic everywhere, so we call this our little piece of Heaven.”

In addition to being on the ski slope, Amy Jansen’s happy place is her friend’s cabin on top of a mountain, where this bluebird stopped for a bite on a 15 degree day. “You can get snowed in here. And for the first day or two it's cozy and beautiful. Then cabin fever kicks in” until the road gets plowed.

Snowfall in north Georgia turns Pat Harman’s neighborhood into a winter wonderland.

When she shared this photo, Kelly Ellis said, “There’s beauty to be found even in the coldest of days.”

I have to agree. Stay warm, everyone!
