Signs of Spring

No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn. Hal Borland

Where I live, evidence of spring appears a few weeks before the actual date on the calendar, March 20th, so I have been enjoying those first signs of spring and wanted to share them with you, particularly if you are tired of tiny temperatures, winter browns, heavy coats, snow and slush.

This lone volunteer was soon joined by others in the woods of our back yard.

When the daffodils start poking their heads through their foliage, my husband always points at them and says, in sort of a formal accent, “The harbingers of spring.” I always laugh, because yay! Spring is on its way!

Beauty above—and beyond.

And, finally, these Lenten roses (hellebores) are declaring the Lenten season and, ultimately, Easter.

With the season of spring comes resurrection—the dead in nature coming back to life, year after year. A beauty-filled illustration of the meaning of Easter for all to see.
